K38 Training: How to Recover a Person from a Rock in a River Using a Res...
Uploaded on May 11, 2015
How to pick up a person from a rock in a river using a Personal Water Craft? K38 uses a 3 point training platform that utilizes helm and throttle control, reading the water and the weather, and trim of the rescue water craft. This is a layered approach that is put in technical behavioral decisions in our training courses. They are all dependent upon one another for flawless execution. There is no damage to the RWC, but without good training it will be impossible to come alongside a fixed object like a rock without damage. Please take a training course and earn your certification so you can serve the public and represented your public safety agency.

Boating safety course becomes mandatory in California in 2015
Californian Boaters Get Ready! It is time to take your boating safety course!
Question: Do you have your boating safety course certificate?
It the answer is no, you have a few days left to go online!
New boating laws are set to go into effect in California with the start of the new year, including one that would require anyone operating a boat to complete a vessel operator course.
Co-authored by Democratic state Sens. Bill Monning and Mark DeSaulnier, SB 941 requires recreational boaters to pass a sanctioned boating education course and obtain a vessel operator card in order to operate a motorboat. Gov. Jerry Brown signed the bill into law in September.

Motorist Stranded on Flooded Roadway Assisted by Rescue Water Craft
Here is a Fire Service Agency utilizing their Rescue Water Craft (RWC) to assist a motorist in Sonoma County on a flooded roadway with standing water. With the response time and water depth and low risk of current flow, it might have been faster to walk the motorist out of the area, but then that would depend on other factors. The depth of water in these situations can be too shallow for the draft of a water intake draw into the jet pump and or the hull can strike the roadway and damage the gelcoat. Regardless, it is a great effort and we appreciate viewing a good operator conducting a positive point of contact in this assist.
