K38 Raid Recon Amphibious (133)
Rocky Darger on the left.
I was teaching a USMC Recon training at Coronado in California. I believe this was in 1997. Rocky worked for Yamaha Motors Corporation, and I enjoyed their sponsorship for these training programs with the Waverunners. We had great surf and good Marines to work with.
Rocky was a former USMC Helicopter pilot in Vietnam. I love this photo because the imagery of both of these 'Marines' has that 'look'. It never leaves you...I didn't know it at the time that Rocky was a Marine. I just found this box of slides and began going through them, posting them, there are about 1500 plus images from 3 years of training Marines at the Amphib base.

Peahi casualty
This is one of two waverunners that were destroyed today....at least up until I left. And there could be as many as three more days of this swell.

God is all around
Every year I look forward to seeing Mark, and of course his photography. He always waits for the end of the day, and every year he gets the sun shots beween the two worlds.
